@KRYST4LCLR Where did you see a a DX12 folder? Did you mean the D3D12-REDIST folder? If yeah, that's a component of Direct X. I haven't seen anything official from R* regarding DX 12.
@Slick_Nick Earlier reports from free Epic users said the update was NOT available to them, so I guess it is now. Well that destroys my theory that R* would try to make money off of these free users.
@Technoet1c There isn't any GTA V Enhanced version of Scripthook 5 on Alexander Blade's website, so there isn't any other SH5.
OpenIV, the editor, not the asi, is still functional so the game can be prepped.
So unless Razed was able to decompile SH5 and update it himself (that's funny), he was not running any mods other than shaders or other crap not dependent on SH5. As for RTX features, they've been around for years including ray tracing so nothing that the vanilla game can't do itself
@llamaxus
Of course OpenIV can't find GTA5.exe in Enhanced for the very simple reason it doesn't exist.
The exe is now called <b>GTA5_Enhanced.exe</b>. Open 4 looks for GTA5.exe, different name.
If you want to view the contents of Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced, rename the folder, rename the exe and you will see everything you need to see.
And yes, this is fact, because I already inspected it. Of course, once inspected or edited, you need to rename the file or the game won't launch.
As for modding Enhanced? We won't know shit until Alexander Blade enables us to go further.
@F7YO I understand your rationale. It's hard not to be negative about Rockstar as their focus is definitely on the GTAO community (including FiveM).
We have to ask why, after so many years, with GTA VI sucking up all their resources, R* would port over the console version so late in GTA V's life. From what I've read, the users who got the free Epic Version will not get the free update. Given the 2 versions aren't compatible online, this could be a new source of revenue for R* as Epic gamers will need to pay for the Enhanced version if they still want to play with friends on the Enhanced version. Too cynical? lol.
Anyway, as I wrote before, I'm no longer surprised when R* breaks something in SP. I do however totally agree with you that from what we know today, it's essentially the same game, same old RAGE engine.
@F7YO Thank you sir and thank you for your dedication to gameconfig.xml mods for our community.
@F7YO We all know how to increase values from the vanilla gameconfig to a modded version. Thanks.
Will you agree that testing a gameconfig.xml, or any script or mod for that matter, is a best practice? No? I think testing a gameconfig.xml, the primary fix for 90% of modded game crashes, is not only important, it's critical.
Also, you're giving everyone the wrong impression that Enhanced is now moddable. It's not. As for RDR2? When did I mention that?
As for other mods not being your concern? Yeah, try your gameconfig.xml without SH5. The fact is that the gameconfig.xml doesn't work in isolation. Sure, that's Blade's responsibility, but how about waiting and testing properly even with your 10 years of experience. Remember 2245? That was a game changer. We never know what R* has in store for us.
As I said, although I'm reverted at 2372, your work and expertise are commendable. Leave it at that.
@Yusuf115 No, today March 5th 2025, you can't play GTA V Enhanced with mods or scripts.
That was the point of my comment above. To play GTA V Enhanced we need a new version of Scripthook 5, specifically for this build. That's under the assumption that R* did not make further changes to their 15 year old outdated RAGE engine when everyone else (except UBI and a few others) are using UE5. In other words, we need to know that all the other pieces, like OpenIV.asi work as well.
Bottom line is why release an untested version of a gameconfig.xml?
@F7YO Everyone appreciates the work you do for the community but honestly you claim your gameconfig is also for Enhanced?
Some facts at time of writing, please correct me if I'm wrong:
1. There is no version 34.5 of GTV Enhanced. This is the Legacy version.
2. There is no proof that GTV Enhanced can be modded - not at this time. We all hope it will.
3. There is no proof that SH5 can be ported or redone from scratch for Enhanced. Will A. Blade port it if it isn't trivial?
4. Will Open 4 be compatible? I mean the asi itself, not the editor which can be tested today. Once more no proof.
5. And same for Trainers, existing SHVDN, scripts etc. What about all the heap, pack, and other limit adjusters?
It's a good idea to test something before releasing it, no? Again, I refer to the Enhanced version 1.0.811, second update.
@InfiniteQuestion I'll give you an example, I have a separate installation of Sunshine Dream but I link all my DLC and Scripts from the same folders, no duplication, using a simple symbolic link.
@InfiniteQuestion "this has saved me over 200 Gb of additional hard drive space". You can share any folders or files with symbolic links. I do this with GTA V and also Stable Diffusion.
