2.0 - Archive has been defragmented, reduced filesize from <700MB to under 200. Also added a 3-unit double stacked well car. This will show up in long intermodal trains, and can be jumped on top of.
1.1 - Condensed the installation a little bit. Also added a missing high-detail yft file for the freight. Whoopsie
T:DE is an addon package that touches up the various train models Rockstar made in 2012, fixing bugs, improving their quality and making them more in-line with the prop trains found in the game world. It also adds a few new models to improve variety.
While the mod focuses mainly on the freight trains, it also slightly updates the metro train, removing the "on-board" camera in the process and allowing the player character to freely walk around. It also updates the interior of the metro to be nicer to look at.
T:DE is fully compatible with any SP missions! (Including Derailed!) You may encounter minor visual bugs, but you will see new models inside missions.
T:DE has not been tested on FiveM.
General changes are:
A few bugs remain, unfortunately. I couldn't fix these, so if anyone knows how to do so, please let me know! They are:
Disclaimer: This is NOT Overhauled Trains 2.
This mod is incompatible with Overhauled Trains or Kitsune Trains, but it's actually somewhat compatible with my old Improved Trains mod! You can just use the config file from that mod with this one, if you want, although you won't be seeing any new locomotives.
I will not be adding any passanger trains to this mod, ever. This mod is meant to be as close to original game quality as possible. If you want passanger trains, use Overhauled Trains or Kitsune Trains.

General changes are:
- The "freightgen" texture (the texture used on bogies and couplers on all trains) has been swapped with a higher quality one (256x to 512x upscale)
- All rolling stock received new high-quality freight bogies
- 2 brand new locomotives made with the same quality as the original
- Complete LODs on all new models
- Shorter and longer trains, now ranging from 3 to around 40 cars
- New sounds, including an audible train horn
- New trains1.dat file, which smoothens out curves and fixes some misplaced nodes
- New trains1.dat file also makes the trains stay on the right track in LS proper, no longer switching tracks near El Rancho
- New trains3.dat file, which is a short loop around the LS port. This can only be seen in missions, unless a train is spawned onto it via natives
- New trains4.dat file, which greatly increases the quality of the LST Metro loop, smoothing out the track a lot and fixing some odd spots
- Further updates to the LST Metro, removing the on-board camera and making the metro a little faster to be less tedious
A few bugs remain, unfortunately. I couldn't fix these, so if anyone knows how to do so, please let me know! They are:
- The burn maps do not work on any of the models. They are vertex painted properly in zmodeler, but they just don't show up in-game for some reason
- There are custom sounds included for the Yardmaster, along with its .rel datasets, but I couldn't get these to work in-game
- The LST Metro has a few navigational issues, peds can not leave the train as they get stuck on the dividers

@11john11 unmount the Overhauled Trains dlc file. It's a model conflict.
@Walter I don't have that installed, guess I will have to see which other mod I have installed overwrites it somehow
@11john11 that is strange then, I had the same issue when OT was installed. It should only be happening to the freightbox model, so maybe you have another mod that adds that?
@Walter can you add those trains in next overhauled trains update?
@Mrkai721 I won't be adding these to Overhauled Trains.
@Walter can you add liveries for containers in the next update?
@Skibiditoilet I'm not planning on it right now. Maybe I'll look into it in the future.
@Walter are you going to make new locomotives, like DDA40X?
@QWERTY916 not planning on it right now. And if I do, it won't be 1 to 1 to any real locomotives. More like an amalgamation of several types, with heavy inspiration from one type, like Rockstar likes to do with their cars.
one of the greatest mods for train lovers. is it possible to have a locomotive decouple and go into a siding? Get some cars or tankers
WALTERS COMEBACK? I have been loving your mods
@Walter Do I have your permission to make a compatibility patch for users of both mods? It'll be privatised (i.e. not distributed/uploaded) w/o your prior knowledge.
@Xire Go for it. You may need to rename the freightbox model in one of the mods because I think it conflicts otherwise.
Wonder if the wellcar containers will be marked with companies like Jetsam, Bilgeco, etc. eventually.
The way I tried to do logos in Overhauled Trains back in the day was via vehicle extras, which you can see on the leftover freightstack model I had in that mod. Unfortunately, Rockstar coded it in a way where if a vehicle is considered a train, it will always spawn with all extras enabled, instead of just one.
I couldn't figure out how to fix this 8 years ago, so if anyone knows how, I might give the company logos a try again.
@Walter I used your old Improved trains 5.0 mod and took a double stack from there, then combined it with the old satrnv mod and got a container company.
IDK what i do wrong but it crashes when loading the game.....went by the install guide point by point
@jirka607 That could likely be caused by the gameconfig file. Did you install a custom one for more addon vehicles?
@Walter I did and it crased, then i used different one and now its fine
Nice job on defragmenting the file, and defragging the vehicles.rpf inside the dlc.rpf would reduce about 30MB more
