A retexture of Katka/Equinox407's XM4! But now it is lore friendly so that you can play the GTA campaign with vanilla guns and have this gem fit in like it was already there!
Features:
- High Resolution Textures (Mid-high end PC recommended)
- Lore friendly Vom Feuer engraving on the receiver, most if not all other markings/engravings removed
Bugs:
- There might still be some markings on the gun that are not lore-friendly but if there are I doubt they are easy to notice so you should be alright.

Installation:
- Download Equinox407's XM4: https://www.gta5-mods.com/weapons/rs2v-ins2-colt-xm4
- Put all files into your patchday8ng file in mods/update/update.rpf/dlc_patch/patchday8ng
(This folder won't be in the game by default I believe, but it is part of the OIV in the VF semi auto pistol mod.)
- Install these textures.
- Put textures in patchday8ng. (same folder you put the models)

With the addition of the Service Rifle in GTA:Online, people are coming with these really neat mods.
For the longest time, waiting for somebody to pull up with a lore-friendly Grand Theft Auto IV-style carbine, and here it is.
Sure wish it had a rear flip-up Magpul-esque ironsight to match it's IV counterpart. Good work though.
Retexturing a Colt receiver to Vom Feuer and nothing else is a poor attempt at lorifying weapons. It is on par with replacing BMW textures with Ubermacht textures and calling it lore friendly. There are several elements that make a good lore friendly weapon, and there are plenty of examples to follow if you want to make a good mod.

@Marksman to be honest i agree with this but as i said, everybody starts somewhere, we are willing to help
@TheRaf3D1 I appreciate you calling out the bad parts but you're completely missing the point of the mod. This is not an attempt at making a new weapon that adds variety to the game. The purpose of this mod (which I originally only made for myself) is to make my favorite gun, the XM177, fit into the lore so I can pair it with higher quality lore-friendly guns without it looking dumb.

@silverthevi I'm not missing the point of the mod just because you're missing what lore friendly is. This isn't lore friendly just because youve put a different texture on and called it something else.

@Marksman I'm not trying to be combative, but by removing the *noticable* IRL markings on the gun, and putting lore-based markings on, it is objectively lore friendly. The addition of tints or level of effort doesn't bend it's ability to fit into the lore. I have made an IRL gun be made by Vom Feuer, it fits into the lore. I don't see any other way that it is not lore-friendly.

@Marksman The weapons in previous GTA games were modeled after real guns and where also that in the beta version of GTA 5. Then Rockstar decided to start frankensteining the guns and the reason for that is simple as they refused to pay for licenses. So taking a real gun and putting lore-markings is lore friendly. Now adding real cars is not lore friendly of course because Rockstar has never added real cars in any GTA game.
