Changes
v1.2:
v1.2.1:
Have you ever wished you had some better defense against those pesky homing missiles while flying a jet or any other in- game aircraft?
You flew over Ft. Zancudo and became an international criminal?
Well look no further..
This script adds infrared countermeasures to in- game aircraft, which when deployed, can deter incoming threats away from your plane, allowing a solid amount of defense against incoming projectiles. No longer is your fate in the hands of those unpredictable missiles!
Default activation key is the space bar, but feel free to change this using the .ini file
Additional Requirements
Installation
v1.2:
- The color of the flares is much more realistic, and more like what you would expect in real life
- The behavior of the flares is less predictable and changes each time they are deployed. The goal being to simulate real-like environmental conditions that would usually exert variable amounts of drag
- A cooldown feature has been added between each subsequent drop, which by default is set to 3.1 seconds, but is subject to change in the future
- The script now calculates the position of the fuselage based on the dimensions of the model, making it compatible with pretty much any vehicle (including addons)
- Any kind of latency that existed with the last version should be gone and internal changes have made the script all around more efficient
v1.2.1:
- Tweaked the behavior of the flares and added more configurable options to the config file
- Fixed an issue where missiles weren't actually being deflected properly
Have you ever wished you had some better defense against those pesky homing missiles while flying a jet or any other in- game aircraft?

Installation
- Create a "scripts" in the main folder where GTA V is installed (if not already there)

Bringing this one back from the dead... just over a year later. Some renewed interest by myself as well as some other folks in the community has driven me to come back to it and work on it some more. Following is a changelog of what has been added with the newer version (think I got it all).
Changes with version 1.2:
- The color of the flares is much more realistic, and more like what you would expect in real life
- The behavior of the flares is less predictable and changes each time they are deployed. The goal being to simulate real-like environmental conditions that would usually exert variable amounts of drag
- A cooldown feature has been added between each subsequent drop, which by default is set to 3.1 seconds, but is subject to change in the future

@CamxxCore doesnt work anymore bro
@CamxxCore Very good idea!! Any chances that you'll update it in order to support a controller?
“IRFlares.ini” not work
To everyone that claims it doesn't work anymore. OpenIV, right click on "IRFlares.ini" and click edit. Go down to "keybinds" and delete "SPACE". Type in "32" and save. When you play your game, press the space bar to deploy flares and it will work. You're welcome.
This is not working can someone help me?
works great I love it even better than the other mod :)
Doesn't work anymore on the latest patch of the game.
